Behold: A 70-day devotional for life's veterans

Behold is a word used over a thousand times in the Bible to describe "take notice" and "pay attention" because something is being communicated that might normally be missed. The Holy Spirit inspired Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16) and He is our Teacher of Scripture (John 14-16). Therefore, if our Teacher tells us to "behold" something, He intends to reveal something to us that would otherwise be hidden. This 70 day devotional is not a subject study on the word "behold" in the Bible. Rather it is about seeing on a completely different order of magnitude. It is about beholding Jesus as the Life, Truth, and Way. This "beholding" is supposed to be the normative relationship between the believer and the Holy Spirit. To behold the Truth from Scripture is a work of the Spirit in the believer. It comes by a Life-to-life relationship with the Spirit that started when the person received Christ. From that beginning onward there is supposed to be an inward dynamic where the Spirit "shows" you Jesus by Life. It is how He tutors your soul.
