He graduated from Hillsdale College in Michigan with Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his M.D. degree from Howard University in Washington DC in 1973. He completed his residency training in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery in 1978 and later also became Board Certified in Otolaryngology in October of 1978. While a Major in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany (1978-1981), Dr. Alexander had an encounter with the Lord.
