To bring Ben up to speed about HOW and WHY it happened, the Time Machine replays Rory's 'down on his luck, hard bitten' life for Ben like a 3D picture show, pausing in freeze frame at the moment he committed the ultimate sin against God. Then, armed with the knowledge of what he must do to save his friend, Ben shoots back through the Fourth Dimension to try and change the past, once again, only to find that several Time Guardians from the distant future are trying to eliminate him to keep history as it is.
