Aaron's friend Kevin Baker is being hailed, by his co-workers at IBM, the next computer science genius. 'The Chinese, the Cubans and the Russians, supplied the land mines, ' said Aaron, while explaining to Kevin why he should see, first hand, the mines and their human consequence in Angola. 'It was American money that paid for them, ' Aaron added. 'Stop the money and you stop the mines.' Aaron believes that the American Under Secretary of State, Robert Adams, has the power to arrange the numbers needed to turn their current stance around and see them sign up to the Oslo treaty on the banning of land mines. 'We will get inside his computers and pull his personal security apart thread by thread, ' said Aaron. 'And when the time is right, we will make him an offer he can't refuse; good old fashioned 'standover tactics, ' It's that simple.' In a plot that spans four continents and includes sex, treachery, lies, and murder, nothing is going to be simple.
