A tragic death takes place on the beach of Santa Cruz, California on the occasion of a USO dance during the last days of World War II. The incident involves three young sailors, close friends for years, who try to cover up what happened. News of the atomic bomb destroying Hiroshima overshadows the investigation which then lies dormant for years until a retiring sheriff reopens the case. Circumstances haunt the three dispersed suspects who believed that their part in the incident was well behind them. "Incident in Santa Cruz" is a mystery and Jack Petro's third book. "No Ordinary Spy" chronicles his exploits as a US Navy Classified Materials Courier during the Korean War. "Santa Line Murder" is a journal of his notes taken during his tenure as foreman of the jury in one of Cleveland's most famous murders. Jack is a WWII Navy Pacific and Korea War Sixth Fleet veteran. In his 38 years with General Electric, he managed several manufacturing facilities. He now operates a Web Site where he critiques live theatre in North Central Florida. Also to his credit are numerous awards for short stories including "The Princess" which made the top 100 list in the 79th Writers Digest Writing Competition. Jack lives in The Villages of Florida with his darling wife, Jan.
