Women Behind Stained Glass: West Texas Pioneers

In this riveting true story, three very different women carve out a place in Texas history. Readers will be transported to nineteenth century Texas, where the stories of Annie Tankersley, Mary Jane Metcalfe, and Ellen Osmer Farr come to life through the vivid detail of Dana Glossbrenner's exhaustive research. These women, forever memorialized in the stained glass windows of First Christian Church in San Angelo, Texas, were pioneers in a time when women were expected to be anything but tough working ladies, able to drive a mule team and shoot a gun. Annie, Mary Jane, and Ellen rose above gender roles and made an indelible mark on the state of Texas. Their perseverance in the face of death, divorce, poverty, and the wide expanses of the unknown serve as an inspiration to all who read their amazing true stories.
