New Confidence: Witnessing the Transformation of Incarcerated Women

New Confidence is the account of a courageous woman and team who volunteered in a women's prison for a year. They taught the inmates written and spoken communication. As part of a Toastmasters International outreach, their weekly meetings resulted in unforgettable transformations. We meet sentenced and pre-sentenced individuals who have reached their bottoms, penniless and homeless. Through their participation and development of untapped skills, they begin to have hope for a better life on the outside. Armed with a positive attitude and improved language, they no longer feared leaving the compound and facing an uncertain future. They believed that had what they needed to keep them from returning to prison. The story of these mentors and mentees is just one of hundreds that has taken place all over the country.
