THIS IS NOT A HASTILY ASSEMBLED SCAN OR "FACSIMILE EDITION" OF THIS WORK. EVERY LETTER AND WORD OF THE ORIGINAL HAS BEEN RESET AND CAREFULLY PROOFED FOR ACCURACY. A gold mine for students of Classical mythology and early first millennium Jewish, Gnostic and Christian beliefs. Synopsis: THE SIBYLLINE ORACLES are a fascinating blend of mysticism, spirituality, philosophy and history emanating from the depths of antiquity. They were widely referenced by the early Church Fathers, and in spite of their pagan content, almost attained Canonical status. THE SIBYLLINE ORACLES are like a first draft of the Biblical Book of Revelation, and have many of the same characteristics as the prophecies of Nostradamus. Cryptic and Apocalyptic, they present the reader with an occult enigma that has puzzled the world for 2500 years, an enigma still waiting to be solved. This edition includes three versions of the famous CHRISTIAN ACROSTIC, several Appendices and a lengthy Index.
