"On My Momma" is without a doubt one of the most used and abused statements I have ever heard spoken in prison. If you are in prison, jail or some level of detention center for the first time you will soon discover it for yourself if you have not already. To those who are not familiar with what it means it is used to substantiate what is being said to be absolute truth. For example, "on my momma that is what happened." It is one of the countless ways that most inmates swear. There are many others-"on my kids", "on my hood", "on everything I love" which almost became the title of this book. But I chose "On My Momma" because it may be what causes you to pick it up and read it. Or at least I hope so... What I hope to achieve with this book is to help you not only make it through prison but to also make the time that you are serving count. I will speak of things that you will face whether you are in a level one, two or three facility. I am sharing with you some of the hurt and pain that I caused in the lives of those that loved and trusted me. I share my own faith with the hope of encouraging you to care enough for yourself to not waste that time trying to fit into a place that you were not born to spend your life. Until you love yourself enough to change you cannot possibly love anyone else enough to change.
