My name is Jameka Leonard. I was diagnosed with brain cancer, a rare form in fact, a brainstem glioma. I was terrified, but luckily I was old enough to understand what was going on, because the word Cancer is scary. But I really felt sad for my daughter. My daughter was a toddler when I was diagnosed with cancer, so she pretty much didn't realize what was going on, until she got older. She is seven now, and the questions started around the age of five. While she doesn't know everything about cancer, I did try my best to explain my situation in a way that would not frighten her. And this is why I wrote this book, to help children understand cancer a little better.
