Thinking the Truth: Fact or Fiction

Thinking the truth is always a challenge. We grow up thinking the truth by learning from the people and events we experience and into which we are brought into contact. There are two ways of thinking truth. The first way of thinking truth is by learning it ourselves and by speaking to others in order to learn from them. The second way we come to the truth is thru faith, which is thru divine revelation. We are always surprised with the truth since it broadens our horizon and makes us live more deeply than we did before we encountered it. Truth comes at a price for us because we are so inclined to go the other way to allow an opinion, suspicion or our fantasy lead the way. We need to have opinions and it is often good to be suspicious of things and people, but there is a balance we need to find. I often think that one of the reasons why it is difficult to face the truth is because it can be boring to live just for the truth; that is, the truth is a stable thing, especially when we are thinking or eternal truth that comes to us in Jesus Christ.
