Tommy Anderson is 42 years old in the prime of his life, living in a small town of Woodstock Virginia. He is a practicing lawyer, running for District Attorney with the numbers looking good for him to win. He has a wonderful family, he is engaged to marry to a beautiful woman he adores, Miranda Callahan. He was so lucky to find a woman like her. But something always holds him back from loving completely to a woman as he once loved Karen Roberts. Tommy is handed a Witness Protection Program case from the Attorney General's office. In reviewing it he finds out the person who was being protected was Sebastian Roberts, Karen's father and finding out she was still alive. Tommy and Karen had known each other their whole lives. Tommy had loved her since the fifth grade. She fought his advances and attentions in high school, telling him he was arrogant and wanted nothing to do with him until he saves her life at the end of summer before their junior year in high school and then they were inseparable. Tommy leaves early for football camp, but Karen never makes it to college, only to receive a letter after the birth of their child that Karen has died.This story is near and dear to my heart. I wrote a short story about Karen & Tommy's life in high school, while I, myself was in high school. I kept the story with me in the hopes of rewriting it someday. When I started writing the story again I realized the story's time frame was not right for this generation, so I brought the story to the present. However, when I started writing it about 20 years ago but my life's journey was taking too much of my time; so it again was put on the shelf.
