Never has a man been more alone than Elijah. What will become of this lonely prophet and his god's unwanted messages?

Elijah walks through life, led only by a god he never understood but has chosen to follow anyway, though by no choice of his own. As he makes his journey to learn the secrets of this mysterious god who is as unpopular in the land as the drought that has plagued it for years, he questions a stirring in his spirit he has also never understood.

His journey leads him through trials he never knew possible, threats on his life by a queen who is as evil as the knives she carries to spill the blood of other prophets, and a contest with 850 evil prophets of a less powerful but more popular god Elijah must fight alone.

Elijah's strange god tests him at every turn, but just when Elijah feels his god will abandon him, this unknown deity surprises him with new gifts, new resources, new ways to fight his savage enemy.

Now a darkness has come over the land, and Elijah is the last of his kind. All other prophets have either been killed or gone into hiding. Elijah alone is left to destroy a false god and save an entire nation from starvation during the horrendous drought which Elijah's god has inflicted upon it.

Will Elijah triumph, or will the weaker god he fights prevail simply because he has a greater following? Will Elijah come to understand the stirring in his spirit?
