Not only do they demonstrate to us that we are not alone, they give us permission to own these beliefs and accept our true 'perfectly imperfect' selves, whilst suggesting that we can choose to transform them into new beliefs, embrace new perspectives, and ultimately change our reality. Taking responsibility for and accepting ourselves in our entirety is what makes us develop our sense of wholeness, and is the key to truly loving ourselves and finding peace. Some suggested affirmations or power statements have been provided to accompany each poem, giving us a further opportunity to replace any of our current limiting thoughts with more positive and powerful ones on that topic, or prompting the creation of others.
