This is an extensive tome on the history, development and deployment of the Atomic bomb and other nuclear weapons. Like Topsy the original eBook grew and grew, eventually to 1000+ pages. We have covered the original British research into a viable nuclear device aided considerably by refugee scientists from Nazi Europe. We have also covered a profile of all the important people involved in developing and delivery the weapons and how the programme grew, in all countries, to encompass peaceful uses of Atomic energy. We have also covered the evidence of prehistoric and alien involvement in the Nuclear arms race and the Nazi development of what might have been alien technology. The deeper you get into the subject the more fascinating becomes the debate. We hope this provides you with an amazing look at this vitally important subject. In addition to conventional nuclear power and nuclear fission we have also covered the development of Nuclear Fusion. Most scientists argue that this is the future of mankind. Interestingly nuclear powered interplanetary ships have been in space of 50 years! I wasn't aware of this and I am sure that most of the readers will not be aware. As a final part of the debate we have also introduced our readers to COLD FUSION. Most scientists argue that this is not part of the Nuclear debate but on the other hand it seems to offer the best future for things like automobiles. Imagine having a car that will run on water - Hydrogen is the most common substance on Earth so there is plenty to go around. Rather than just provide information, we hope these books will encourage the reader to delve deeper and deep into the subject and perhaps become part of this ongoing debate. One of the primary arguments is who actually was responsible for producing the first nuclear weapons and perhaps even more controversial who actually won the war. It is clear that the British development was the most significant and without it the U.S.A. would not have completed their development or be able to drop the bombs on Japan. It is equally clear that the Japanese would probably not have surrendered without it and an invasion of the Japanese homeland would have cost possibly more than 1 million allied lives. It is also clear that Britain was aided by many scientists refugees from Nazi Europe and many were Jewish. It is also clear that the virtual destruction of Germany and Japan lead to their total rebuilding and their eventual rise to preeminence in the Plan't economy. It is equally clear that the U.S.A benefitted enormously from the British empire's demise and thirst for supplies. It is quite clear that Roosevelt did not plan this massive profit but U.S. business engineered the massive profits from the war trade.Who won? Well, the world won overall from Britain's sacrifices. Britain lost enormously and the developing world was set upon a path of amazing growth. Wars always bring loss to many but advantages to many nations and individuals. As this was the biggest war that had ever been it was probably inevitable that the losses and gains would have been equally enormous. The other irritating feature about WW2 history is how the U.S.A. and particularly U.S.A. filmmakers rewrite a great deal of history. I have noticed that the enigma machine was stolen by an American submarine according to American films? Hmmmmm? It is however, comforting to see that the development of modern day computers at Bletchley Park has been acknowledged.
