Chasing Squirrels in Retrospect

One woman's determination to triumph over life's adversities, one sarcastic comment at a time...Georgia Leonard is short, optimistic and refuses to take life too seriously unless it is absolutely necessary. Her appalling dating skills ensure that she tackles life largely on her own, and with varying degrees of success. We follow Georgia through family heartbreak, an accusation of hoover crime and being attacked by a swan during a sponsored swim. When George discovers that somebody has been stealing money for her ancient Auntie D, it sparks a series of tragedies that take her family life by storm. Soon, she not only has to deal with a puzzling case of fraud, but also the emotional rollercoaster of facing death as another family member is diagnosed with leukaemia. As if that wasn't enough, after being single for many years, Georgia feels certain that she has finally met the man she's been waiting for. Why then, is he attached? And why won't he leave her alone?Georgia is determined to keep smiling, whatever life throws at her. Full of moments of great joy and great sorrow, 'Chasing Squirrels in Retrospect' is a heart-warming story where we deal with life, death and everything in-between, whilst trying to stay happy along the way. This is a semi-autobiographical novel from a debut writer. Check it out in the LOOK INSIDE feature.
