The Discovery of Left World: Part One of an Almost Completely True Fairy Tale

During a botched experiment at Advanced Computers&Games, Pim Pergamon, a young man somewhat past his youth, is propelled from London to a place called Left World inhabited by fairies, goblins, witches and warriors, shockworkers and bureaucrats, wolves in top hats with doctorates from University of Koenigsberg and dragons in T-shirts. At the same time, an unsuspecting pacman is transported in the opposite direction and ends up roaming the offices of ACG here in Right World. A single gate, volatile and shifting, remains open between the two worlds, the only way for Pim to return - unless a vile morph or an ogre get in first. But there is more to Left World than fairy tales have ever told us. There was no mention of temp agencies for superheroes, no mention of dragon poetry festivals and decidedly no mention of Kutlurg Corporation, miners of lore&ore, and its sinister Crisis Staff. Pim's quest for his gate is not made any easier by Sir Henry Grenfell-Moresby, a high dignitary of Left World as pompous as he is grumpy, who happens to be convinced that Right World is - just a myth.
