I'm Not One of Them!

He was a well respected teacher with the public schools, educated; a good neighbor, from a good family, and active in the community; but on June 30, 2006 his world turned upside down when the FBI raided his home, confiscated his computer, and later charged him with being in possession of child pornography. This is a harrowing and thought provoking story that traverses through every segment of the United States criminal justice system. It is frightening, sobering, at times humorous and poignant, and at other times violent and tragic. It takes the reader through seven years of court battles, loss of careers, destitution, incarceration in federal prison, sex offender therapy, supervised release, and the frustrating struggle to readjust and rebuild a life while being stigmatized as one of society's reviled registered sex offenders. But it is more than a book about the criminal justice system; it is a story of courage and survival, a saga of the human will to prevail, and it is a profound look into the individual psyche with an attempt to understand human error and failure. It is a deeply personal account of life and tragedy, and it is a uniquely open minded exploration into that growing class of Americans labeled as sex offenders. This book will change the way you see the world.
