Ruth King, has it all, education middle class wealth, great husband and son, until bipolar depression enters her life and strips her of everything she loves. When postpartum depression turns into bipolar disorder, Ruth falls into a spiral of self-medication and despair. She divorces her first husband in favor of destructive relationships with manipulative men who only worsen her mental illness. The only shining star in her life is her son, Kasey. A seven-time All-American Scholar Athlete like his grandfather, Kasey seems poised for greatness.

But when tragedy strikes and the young man's life suddenly hangs in the balance, Ruth must look to God for help.
