Tones of the Body's Voices: Carter = Money = Power

In Tones of the Body's Voices: Carter = Money = Power, Carter Winslow has emerged from his lakeside hideaway after five years, finally deciding to rebuild his family and community relationships.

With his Lanco Investment Company doing well, Carter is able to exercise his option to buy the Schnofleck Christmas tree farm, depot, and gift shop. However, some local teens' irresponsible beer parties pose a threat to the land's value. To solve the problem, he will have to get all of the area's power brokers on his side.

Meanwhile, Carter's complicated personal life poses its own challenges. He is excited to meet his young daughter, as well as his son's daughter, for the first time. Then there's Kaydee, the alluring former student who'd make a perfect head honcho for his company-if only he could understand his feelings for her.

Perhaps the most important decision Carter must make is about the superintendent job, which will require him to stir up seventeen years' worth of rumors and secrets. Carter knows he's changed for the better, but it will take some bold and unconventional moves to prove that he's the right person to step into the much-needed role of community leader.
