Winston Farrell is a performing poet and theatre practitioner from the island of Barbados. This work, Call of the Quarter Master, has been created out of a series of interactions with senior citizens focusing on their life experiences and their environment. These poems are poems of struggle and lament, but they are also about celebration and testimony. Some of them are very performance-oriented and stands out as an exercise in storytelling.
