This Side of Suicide Is Life

A fellow came home from work last Thursday. He went into the kitchen, grabbed a glass, filled it with water, sat it down and turned to toss his jacket onto the table. Ignoring the glass of water he passed his wife coming in through the front doorway, with a sack of groceries. As she went into the kitchen, passing her husband heading upstairs, they smile, nodded, as she said, "Early supper, 'bout an hour, okay?" Her husband in a serious trot gave a nod, not looking down to her grunted, "Yeah! Sure! okay!" In about an hour, she went up to get him for dinner, and wondering why he had actually never come back down to sit in the den, to read the paper. A usual! She quickly stepped up into the bedroom with a cute grin to say to him, seeing he was asleep on the bed, "Food first...then nap before bed time, baby." As she nudged him he didn't move. In Serious mode she goes on, "Wake up, honey." And with a nudge she saw a piece of paper in his hand. As she quickly grabbed it she read these words. "I'm sorry honey! I have tried to make you happy, doing what I thought I should, but I know something inside me let me see I failed. Just like I did some buddies back in Iraq that year before Johnny was born. I'm so sorry I failed you, Johnny and my buddies over there. I love you, my home, my town, my job and my buddies. Sorry I failed!" Roger He was gone from his intentional over dose!
