Immigration becomes a predominant aspect and a universal phenomenon in contemporary literature. Due to various reasons people move from one place to another. It could be out of political, social, cultural and personal reasons. They experience various hazards in the process of settlement in the new country. Immigration leads to participation in the multicultural and multi complex society of the foreign land. Caught between two cultures, native and alien, the immigrants experience with culture shock and adjustment conflicts. The diasporic writers have succeeded in drawing the universal attention with their psychoanalytical methods of characterization. They attempted to present the traumatic experiences of the Indians in alienation and perfectly balance their native and acquired selves in their home and foreign issues. Some of these writers express their longing for their mother land as well as portray an objective picture of Indian society. They want to project how the Indian immigrants try to mould themselves into the frame work of the alien lands.
