If in sober times the drinker is able to see that others have become well without struggling to stay sober each day, he will be encouraged. It will not happen overnight but the seed will have been sewn. The alcoholic must want to help himself and all we can do is offer proven alternative solutions that have a good success rate as one type of treatment can never fit all.
