The Adlerian Team Leader

The Adlerian Team Leader is a three part book that provides frameworks to support the different elements of a Team Leader's job: managing the people, the development process, and professional interactions. Many times, a team leader is 'thrown' into the new job without guidance. This book will guide you to either becoming a great team leader, or instructing your team leaders on how to motivate and maintain a productive team while delivering great products with high professional performance.

A Software Team Leader is a juxtaposition of responsibilities. He or she is a leader of spirit, while equally a leader of practice. These two very different skill sets need to be put into play in order to do this job successfully.

Team leaders are commonly former developers. However, the jump from managing lines of code to managing real human beings is sharp. A good team leader needs to know how to lead the people to success, in addition to solving the technical problems. As it turns out, the set of skills required to be a great developer are not the same set of skills required to lead a development team, and as developers are the team leaders, teaching leadership to developers thrust into leadership is critical.
