A Little Book About... Bees: The Honey-Bee in Lore and Literature

A book for the bee-lover in your life!

Through the world of lore and literature, this book takes an inspirational and often irreverent look at honey-bees and the humans that keep them.

This little treasure contains a selection of passages, anecdotes and quotations - interspersed with beautiful illustrations and fun facts - all surrounding the wonderful life of the honey-bee. Starting with Aesop's fables, and moving through the wisdom of Plato, Virgil and St. Ambrose - to Shakespeare, Tennyson and Tolstoy, this collection is sure to delight both the experienced bee-keeper, as well as those with a simple interest in these wisest of insects.

Today, more than ever, the honey-bee is facing the toughest of times. Climate change, pesticides and urban development have all impacted on their survival - but throughout history our enthusiasm for these creatures has never ceased to wane. It is hoped that with this 'Little Book about Bees' (and bee-keepers!), a 'little bit' of their wisdom, humour and hard work is passed on.
