To love God is to cherish and esteem God with your whole being - spirit, soul, and body. It is to keep His Word and Commandments, and also to serve Him with your whole heart. To love God is to put God first before any other person or thing, and to not offend or displease God because of any person, desire, or thing. How do we prove that we love God? We show and prove that we love God by keeping His Word and Commands. If we say that we love Him, but do not obey what He tells us to do, where then is the Love of God in us? Another way, by which we prove our love for God and to Him, is by serving Him and seeking for the wellbeing of His Kingdom. Next, if you love God and really love Him, the love that you have for God will keep you from doing certain things, saying certain things, and behaving certain ways. This is no joke! If your Christian life is the one in which you yourself determine and decide what to obey and what not to obey, then you do not love God.
