For the record abstinence simply says that you are going to abstain from having sex, for a certain period. While, celibacy puts you on a path of absolute celibacy until marriage or forever. While to some celibacy is a journey, to others, abstinence may be a trip. Celibacy is also an act of faith, meaning faith is something that, according to the word of God we all have a measure of faith. Romans 12:3. And since faith is an action word when we decide to make the decision to be celibate, we are saying to ourselves and to the world.
