In order to counter the domestic threat posed by domestic and foreign terrorists, after the NineEleven debacle the Department of Homeland Security was created by the U.S. Government. One of the Department's first official acts, unknown to but a few, was the creation of ContraForce Zulu, usually referred to as either ForceZulu or just the Force, a clandestine top secret anti-terror, anti-subversive group of operatives composed of current and former military members, both male and female, who are primarily special operation 'ops' snipers operating under cover. In order to maintain an official, albeit secret, status, all members of the small elite group, in addition to being ForceZulu operatives, also belong to a paramilitary multi-service active reserve unit on permanent 'loan' from their official service assignments. The members have all the rights and obligations of both ForceZulu and ordinary reservists on active duty. Like the President, after retirement, they receive lifetime protection by the Secret Service. In addition to its headquarters, ForceZulu, has a number of top secret 'safe houses' located around the world, primarily on military and quasi-military facilities. Its liaison is at headquarters ContraForce Zulu, Langley, Virginia. It wasn't long before ContraForce Zulu discovered a sizeable force of Sabado Venganza (Saturday Revenge) infiltrators set for an attack on The Conway Communications Center located along U.S. 395 north of Mono Lake. Marines stationed at the Bridgeport Mountain Warfare Training Center, using Contraforce Zulu operatives as advisors, mobilized, and engaged the enemy at Conway, with skirmishes spreading north to the Virginia Lakes.
