Living with Dad

The Father God placed a love for His word in my heart at a very early age. Many scriptures have upheld me in dark times, as well as in times of joy. One of the most precious scriptures to me is Matthew 23:9, "And do not call anyone on earth your father, for One is your Father, He who is in heaven." With this verse, my Father, God, wrote into my heart the truth of who I am in Him, the truth of His love and blessing for my life and of the reality that God is my Father. I am not to call anyone on earth "Father", but only my Father who is in heaven. I realize that we all have biological fathers, and in this I am no different than anyone else. But my Father God wanted me to know in the core of my being that He is my Father, and that He would direct my life from my first breath on this earth. One other key verse is John 1:1-5, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." This is of course talking about Jesus, our Savior. All I learned from how to be a daughter to Father God comes from Jesus, my King. Thank you Jesus from the bottom of my heart. The stories I'm about to share are vignettes of what it's been like to live with my "Daddy" God, Abba Father. I'm a grandmother now, and I hope your reading of these memories will be a little like sitting at Grandma's knee as she shares her heart. My life message grows out of my life story. At the end of my book are some thought questions called, "Deeper Journey," designed to help you think about the Father's role in your own life, or to be used as discussion questions should you read my book as a part of a small group. If you're reading on your own, you may want to pause after each chapter and prayerfully respond to these thoughts.
