Rainbows in the Valley

As a Believer in Christ we all have moments in time when we are sure God has called us to a different mission than the life we were living. This is what happened to my husband and I when we answered that call. We were in our early fifties when we left our home in Michigan, the church we loved, all our friends, and Bills job and we answered that call to full time ministry. Answering this call would forever change our lives. We could not know the characters we would meet or the girls we would learn to love as our own. God knew, and this is the story of that journey. Our kids were grown up when one Easter our oldest daughter said to us 'if you really want to make a difference you should work with troubled kids'. That would be the catalyst that would launch us into the world of "at risk" teenage girls. This is the adventure that God had planned for us. To work side by side with other believers, to be shot by friendly fire, to see lives transformed through the love of Jesus Christ, to know the despair of rejection, and finally to be lifted up by the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.
