Luther Spurlock, a crusty career criminal from South Georgia, is known in the criminal community as "the Cracker," a nickname he acquired as a safe cracker and tunneling expert. Recently paroled, he is approached to tunnel into a bank in Savannah, Georgia. As preparations get underway, Special Agent Hank Monroe with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation soon stumbles onto their plan.
