By the early twentieth century was the mechanical world view rejected by the scientific community to the extent that hardly anybody who have a career to consider dare to follow it up any further. Even if the excellent tools of Special and General Relativity can explain almost everything with high precision, I feel that there is more to it than meets the eye. In this book I sketch up an idea of an underlying reality, both in a readable form without much use of mathematics, and by a deeper analysis that is impossible without that formalism.

Space is an elastic continuum and matter is nothing but disturbances in that continuum.

Over the aeons disturbance energy from the infinity of space gradually gathered into an orderly implosion, the Big Crunch, which ended up in an almost perfect singularity and the Big Bang.

From the chaos of the Big Bang matter was created basically of confined waves similar to the primary and secondary waves produced by earthquakes, and the compressed space itself has expanded ever since behind a solitary wave.

It turns out that S-waves are electro-magnetic waves, P-waves are linked to gravitation, and a combination of the stress energy tensors from these two wave forms leads to the famous Einstein equation.
