History With a Grain of Salt: Book Three

Middle Ages. The vast majority of us, even at the mention of the Middle Ages, have in mind the image of an indeterminate dark, dirty, and bloody era with charging knights and witches burning at the stake. Which is not far from the truth. The stories in this book will give the reader opportunity to meet the most important figures and events that marked the Middle Ages in an interesting, entertaining, and critical way. When told with "a grain of salt," these tales show that they are not exactly the same as they were presented to us. From Attila the Hun and Charlemagne, Muhammad and Genghis Khan, from Marco Polo to Joan of Arc, in this book you will meet many extraordinary people and keep track of the profound consequences they left behind. You will follow the creation of the powerful Byzantine Empire and two organizations (the Templars and the Inquisition), one of which suddenly perished in flames and the other which inspired fear into believers for centuries. In any case, it is far from the usual boring history book, but rather one of those books you will read with pleasure.
