In 1865 General Lew Wallace encounters the assassin John Wilkes Booth as a judge at the trial of his co-conspirators. In 1879 as Governor of the New Mexico Territory, he becomes embroiled in the capture of Billy the Kid, and in 1889 at the peak of his literary success, Wallace meets the most heinous of all his nemeses: Jack the Ripper.Shock for shock, the third volume in the Ben Hur trilogy brings together all elements of the previous stories-and gives the aging author of Ben Hur one last challenge to his moral integrity. Is Wallace facing a fraud and imposter? Has Jack the Ripper helped John Wilkes Booth escape capture? You may not want to believe it, but the author of Ben Hur met some of the most dangerous men of the 19th century. Author William Russo has told each story over the past 30 years: When J. Wilkes Booth Met Ben Hur, When Billy the Kid Met Ben Hur-and now the last volume of the trilogy-When Jack the Ripper Met Ben Hur.
