His mother, Nancy Lindop, spent half a century conducting genealogical research leaving Geoffrey her handwritten notes - a valuable research tool. He formed a publishing company - Mercianotes - to bring her research to a wider public.In this compilation derived from the Staffordshire Post Office Directory of 1864, he has used an easy to read modern font - an improvement on the small-print of the original.
