The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor and Purple Heart, the latter named such in 1932, are colocated with the New Windsor Cantonment State Historic Site. As years went by, changes came to the town. Old businesses closed; new ones opened. Subsequent years and population growth have seen businesses, organizations, churches, and schools dominate this historical community.
