This is a book of 24 poems and corresponding illustrations that were written in order to honor those who had survived or perished during the Holocaust. Though nearly eighty years have passed since the Holocaust, the events of those fateful years have left a lingering effect on the entire world. Though many stories have been told by witnesses and the surviving victims; they all represent one common theme - horror. The horror of watching your life's work destroyed; the horror of watching your children and loved ones being taken away and murdered. The horror experienced by those who perished and even the greater horror experienced by those who managed to live. Although many have survived the Holocaust there are no true survivors. The visions that had been embedded in the minds of the victims will never dissipate and will continue to haunt their every waking moment. Nevertheless, the living Holocaust victims have given inspiration to millions and remain a symbol of resilience and fortitude. With this book I hope to honor and express my gratitude to those who have led by example.
