Klindness For The Sake Of Love

Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan's sake? David's words represent a pact in favour of the house of Saul, born in the mind of the king and communicated to others. That this initiative was sincere and was meant to be realized is confirmed by the fact that when Mephibosheth, son of Jonathan, was before him, David did not delay to tell him: "Don't be afraid, for I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table." What David did in giving back to Mephibosheth the lands that belonged to Saul, his grandfather, and making him dine at his table like one of the king's sons, was not only wonderful from a human perspective considering the physical disability that Mephibosheth had, being crippled in both feet, but it was also very meaningful from a spiritual point of view considering the evil that the house of Saul had caused David.
