In the Crossfire

The world as you know it, is gone. Angels and hellions descended on Earth like an inevitable disease. They were a flood of liquid fire, drowning and scorching all the same, destroying everything they touched. Few free people have survived in the shadows of the woods, but those numbers are dwindling. As for Sky, her mother was an angel and father a human. She is what they call a Halfling, and she tries to survive in this godforsaken place.

Sky's life takes a turn when she and her two friends are captured and brought to a hive. Three angelic royal bloodlines oversee tasks at the hive, and each takes a special interest in Sky and the secrets she keeps. Some will want to use her for her halfling gifts, to gain power, or for their sadistic desires. Unknowingly, Sky has joined an intricate game that has been going on for millennia, designed in elaborate weavings. It has been playing out long before she was born and will continue long after her bones turn to dust. To survive, Sky will need to confront fears, shift her allegiances, and protect her heart. Will she stand on her own, or be a shiny new game piece for others to use?
