The Edge Of What I Know

A book of poems and song lyrics. It always amazes me when poems or songs take shape. A line comes to my mind, usually not bidden nor sought. From that seed, another line and then another until something takes shape and expresses something that was under the surface similar to a dream that forms in the night to reveal an unconscious thought or emotion, or if even just to shuffle the events of the day. It is easy to believe in the Muses for it comes from who knows where? It just is. And then looking at it, we say, ah, that's it. I like my poems and songs and to me that is all that matters. I would love it if others did as well, but that is not necessary. All that's necessary is that they are mine and I am satisfied.
