Meria and Seth Maat are lucky ones, their natural skills and talents enough to make them more useful than most to the society that has arisen after the Apocalypse decimated Earth. As everything they have ever believed and lived for slowly begins to crumble, the Maats are faced with an almost impossible choice. Should they avenge the deaths of their parents, letting their precious Rankings fall to the point where they will be terminated? Or should they ignore the crushing headaches and strange messages that the Others are sending them and focus only on living the lives they know?
