Sheriff Angelina Saint Cloud has the job of keeping the peace between the Clownfolk and the 'Norms'; (those who don't wear make-up). That delicate balance is tipped as a dead clown is found just outside the city limits. The plot thickens as the mystery ensues in this novel that is a cross between 'Twin Peaks' and 'Pleasantville'.
