Leo Calder served in the Northwestern States Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from January 1926 to December 1927. His known surviving missionary correspondence spans from January 8, 1926 to November 23/24, 1927 and is written on formal L.D.S. Mission stationery, standard lined stationery, strong linen paper, and occasionally a post card. These letters have then been compiled for your interest and use to learn about this humble, diligent, and very real man. As his third grandchild, I knew Leo Calder as a child and reverence the moments we had together. Occasionally since, he has been close and I am very grateful to have shared his missionary experiences with him through his letters. May you, too, learn about him, his heart, and his testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ!
