The book also tells the story of Yvonne's parents and maternal grandparents who emigrated from Lebanon to Australia at various times in the late 19th and 20th Centuries, her great uncle who emigrated to Brazil, and her husband, Youssef 'Joe' Matta, and his involvement in municipal politics in the Beirut suburbs. This memoir provides many glimpses and insights into life in Lebanon and Australia through much of the 20th Century.
