My Journey: Life After Addiction: - The Lazarus Man

This book is the story of a man whose journey through life had been subjected to many near-death experiences. This man journeyed through the valley of the shadow of death, suffering silently as a small boy then losing his mind as an adult man. His soul was tortured with memories of the past and paralyzed with visions of an uncertain future. He blindly searched for something, anything, that would bring meaning to his life, something that would end the mental anguish, desperation and misery that clung to his being every second, every hour, every day of his life. Sports, academic achievement, sex and money could not quench the thirst for joy, peace and happiness that eluded him at every turn, at every milestone in his life. Ultimately, he found that drugs could numb the feeling of emptiness and pain. And so, began the death of addiction. Addiction, triggered by childhood trauma and abuse, launched him into an even deeper world of isolation and suffering. Lost in a wilderness of despair and depravity, 40 years of life had been consumed by an evil force, an evil entity that sought to put chains on his mind, body and to kill his very soul. The wilderness would end with four transforming words he heard on April 16, 2003 at about 7 PM. The words were miraculous. It was the Holy Spirit who spoke these words: "Go ask for help." The power of the word of God propelled him onto a path that would lead him to a new journey with a purpose that lent meaning to his life. He was renewed in his mind and the chains had been broken from his body and soul. He came back to life, just as Lazarus came to life. Like Lazarus, he was called forth but from spiritual death and breathed the air of life from the very breath of God. He is the 'Lazarus Man.'
