The United States Constitution protects our rights and liberties. In order to preserve freedom in the United States Slavery was to be abolished. Soon after the attack on Harpers Ferry's Ammunitions supply by John Brown the Civil War began. Starting in the War at the age of 13 he became an accomplished young adult who fought his way through the trials of the Civil War. A call back commander for the Vermont 3rd later an Artillery Operator for the infamous Vermont 6th. Having a son by Mary Preston his wife him and his son attend the 50th Anniversary of the Civil war battle of Gettysburg.
