The Stolen Bacillus and Other Incidents is a collection of fteen fantasy and science ction short stories written by the English author H. G. Wells between 1893 and 1895. All of the stories had rst been published in various weekly and monthly periodicals. This story is a chilling satire about the potential role of scientists in facilitating bioterrorism. It concerns a Bacteriologist is so pleased with his own work that he gives the Anarchist access to it, and in expounding on the power of the cholera bacillus (which he feels he has in his own power), he gives the Anarchist the information he needs to recognize bioforms as an effective weapon. When his rst plan fails and he swallows the vial's contents himself, the Anarchist becomes a suicidal martyr to his cause and no longer needs to escape his pursuers. He triumphantly confronts them and then wanders off into the city, "carefully jostling his infected body against as many people as possible" Fortuitously, the scientist has been boastfully dishonest about the bacteria he was showing off, so that the epidemic will be not cholera but something presumably less lethal and comically visible. Each RADLEY CLASSIC is a meticulously restored, luxurious and faithful reproduction of a classic book; produced with elegant text layout, clarity of presentation, and stylistic features that make reading a true pleasure. Special attention is given to legible fonts and adequate letter sizing, correct line length for readability, generous margins and triple lead (lavish line separation); plus we do not allow any mistakes/changes/ additions to creep into the author's words.
