The women's revolution will not be televised. It must be read. The Universe forced me to write this book. At 2:00 a.m. on January 21, 2017 my mother's birthday and the date of The Women's March on Washington. I was sitting in my car in the Bronx, New York across the street from the Mary McLoed Bethune Housing Projects. I was feeling defeated. I had begun a social media campaign. I received little or no feedback from the -coincidences- that were posted in support of my book. I wanted to give up. But, in that instance I saw commotion across the street. There was a fight amongst two women. They were screaming and crying. A tall dark man said, -Stop her, grab her-. The girl began screaming -momma stop, give it back!-. They were tussling in the middle of the busy street. Repeatedly she said -momma stop-. The mother was silent as she continued to pull off the young girls, coat, shirt and shoes. She exposed her daughter's breast as she ripped her shirt. The mother was resilient and powerful in her efforts. They tussled into the light of the corner liquor store. The daughter screamed -give back my shoes momma...I can't feel my feet, give back my shoes-. The ground was wet. She leaned against the wall of the store crying profusely...she was tired.- That's when I realized the story of -Golden Idols- must be told to the world. By the age of eight Brandy had the body of a video vixen, the intellect of a college professor and decadence for everything luxurious in an impoverished neighborhood that only offered a life of crises and complacency. As an adult her body brings her a great life that she always dreamt of. But when life happens and she can't use her body anymore because of a tragic event, Brandy wakes up constrained by police officers in a mental institution. -Golden Idols- is based on true and fictional stories that remind women the deadly price paid for not listening to your inner voice, worshiping men and material things.
