Links Poetry: Stream Of Consciousness Poems

Links Poetry takes readers on a journey of life. Spurring memories, stirring the brain and igniting converation. At times it befuddles and amuses. Aspiring writers will be filled with new ideas for their own works. Some have likened Links Poetry to the X-Games of poems. It is also called Flow Poetry or Connections Poetry. Many of the poems in this book flow from one word to the next in an open stream of consciousness. Links Poetry at ties is almost as abstract as a Jackson Pollock painting. The book includes about 20 Links poems and a few that are more traditional poems, such as "How?" and "Socrates in Cuba, near Florida." The book also includes a couple chapters delving into the art of creating Links. The author assembled this poetry into a book while living in the creative and beautiful small Alabama town of Fairhope. Though the poetry may have evolved from a trip years earlier to a small museum in London where the author saw writings of Winston Churchill in which sentences of his speeches would include a word on a line of its own. Presumably so Churchill would remember to pause and/or emphasize that word. Links Poetry takes every individual word to a whole new level as sound and pronunciation and association to the words around it evoke emotions and responses unique to each reader.
